John Bird 1925-2020

It is with regret that we inform you of the passing of John Bird.

The following was given to us by his grandson, Alastair. There is also a brief history of John's life here.

John was born on the 31st August 1925. John was a passionate (and very good) racing cyclist. He was a member of Wolverhampton Wheelers and he met Monica, his wife to be, in the Wheelers clubroom in the Dartmouth Arms, Vicarage Road, Wolverhampton. (Its still there!!)

Ordering New Kit

For any members ordering new kit and wanting to try on and check the sizing first, there will be a variety of sample sizes of both jerseys and bib shorts to try on at track sessions on Friday 28th February, Wednesday 4th March, Friday 6th March and Friday 13th March.

If you have bought kit previously, you probably don't need to do this as the sizing hasn't changed, just the design.

Clive Drury

Clive Drury, a Life Member of the Wolverhampton Wheelers will be sadly missed, a man of great kindness and consideration and never afraid of getting stuck in and doing his turn - no matter what the cause.

A racing cyclist with an envious pedigree, who many say could have made it alongside the World's best had he wished. Whatever Clive did he did it to the best of his ability and when that came to racing that meant he would never be satisfied with just riding to finish - Clive gave it his all.
