Welcome to DCC MJ – Let’s Ride!
We’re thrilled to invite you to our very first cycling sportif, hosted by DCC – and you’re not going to want to miss this one. It’s the perfect way to close out your season with a real challenge and a great atmosphere! Aswell as helping raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.
We are also super proud as our first cycling sportive to be celebrating the massive contribution to West Midlands road racing of Mike Jackson, a stalwart of the local scene in his role as commissaire. We have designed a special route to incorporate Shropshires beautiful rolling countryside as well as passing through key racing locations Mike has supported over the years, and that many of us have built enduring memories from.
Your ride:
- 100km for a solid test of your summer fitness
The route will start and finish at our DCC home base – The Hinksford Arms – where there will be a great vibe waiting for your return. Whilst parking is available, we would encourage local riders to ride down/ car share to the event.
Sign on opens from 08.00- Riders will depart from 8.30 till 09.00.
Support on the Road
We’ve got you covered with:
- Feed stop at Leighton (30 miles in)
- Expect hot & cold drinks, fresh cakes, bananas, and a sweet spread to keep your legs spinning strong all day.
- Route will be signed to support your route as well as downloads on the BC website for your computer.
- Support vehicles will also be out on the course, ready to assist any riders who run into trouble.
Post-Ride Reward
Once you roll back into the HQ at the Hinksford, enjoy a well earned drink and cob.
