The club is hosting the West Midlands Regional Cyclocross Championships at Aldersley on Sunday 3rd December 2023 from 9.00.
This is a great event to promote the leading status of the club but it will go best with the support of a large number of member volunteers.
This is an appeal to all club members to help support the event in several volunteer roles .
We require help with:
Course marking from 9.00 am on Saturday 2nd
Course building – putting out plastic stakes and tapeing the course .and putting up the club sign on gazebos next to the hockey pitches from 7.00am Sunday
Marshals for course crossing points and public access points during races and practice from 9.00 including a marshalls organiser/ roster manager
Sign on of competitors from 9.00 Again someone to take charge and others to help
Finish line lap rider number calling and recording back -up for electronic timing.
Personnel at the Club cakes stall – cake donations requested please.
Car park marshals inc one to take charge and organise a roster to direct the visiting competitors
After the event we also need help in packing up the stakes etc. and placingi it back in our compound.
Help alll day and part day Sunday is needed so please either Email cyclocross secretary on jp.met@outlook.com with your availability , let our our coaches know, or tell Phil Metcalfe when you attend the club AGM in November that you can provide assistance personally or with family and friends.
We do hope for a good turn out of members . As we are hosting the event there is No pressure to do Sunday road ride so members are expected Not to start any road rides from Alderley on the 3rd December.
