Tony Summerfield - founding member of the Elizabethan Cycling Club and former National Veterans Cyclo-cross Champion sadly passed away recently. Tony and his loving wife Ann gave their life to cycling promoting many, many races over the years, making it possible for thousands to enjoy the sport. Tony was a very capable road rider, but Cyclo-cross was where he excelled, becoming the first ever National Veterans Champion in 1970.
Tony will be laid to rest on Friday 24th July at 12.00 noon in the West Chapel of Bushbury Crematorium, Wolverhampton.
Please note that current Covid19 restrictions apply and that only 15 family members and close friends will be allowed inside the chapel. Others wishing to pay their last respects will have to remain outside.
Donations to Compton Hospice will be gratefully received.
The Wheelers and the wider cycling community all send our deepest sympathies to Ann at this sad time.
